If you’re looking for travel inspiration for your next travel jaunt, you need to turn your attention to New Zealand. Widely known as the adventure capital of the world, this is a place where you can see some of the most dramatic and otherworldly landscapes the planet has to offer, all with a truly outdoorsy vibe which will do a lot more than just fill your lungs with fresh air!
Large cities mingle perfectly with rural village life, with stunning surfing beaches, huge, imposing mountains, and even the odd iceberg or two!
The North and South Islands make up this diverse, cultural, and natural land, and in order to get the best out of it, a private guided tour is a great option. This way, you get to see the major sights but also experience some of the lesser known secrets New Zealand has to offer and at the end of the day you experience more, which is basically what travel is all about!
The huge city of Auckland is a major pull, and certainly a must visit on the list. Checking out the views from Sky Tower in the centre of the city will give you plenty of material for Instagram! Wellington is another fantastic city to visit, and is of course the country’s capital, as well as Christchurch for more city life. Despite the cities, it is probably the internal and coastal landscapes that really sum up the rugged and powerful nature of New Zealand, and Tongariro National Park is probably the epitome of this. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which says a lot for it, as well as the oldest national park in the country. Huge, rugged mountains soar up into the sky, making you feel tiny.
If you prefer your landscapes a little wetter, Milford Sound will seriously thrill you. This is in the south of the South Island, part of the famous Fiordland National Park, and is a huge fjord, peaceful yet mighty at the same time. Waitomo Caves is another famous landmark, mainly for its inhabitants – the glow-worm!
There are simply far too many sights and attractions to name here, but probably the biggest advertisement for New Zealand is the land. If it’s good enough for the Lord of the Rings then come on, it’s got to be seriously amazing!
