Las Vegas is certainly one of the most famous cities in the world, if not the THE most famous. Full of glitz, glamour, entertainment, and more opportunities to cut loose and forget all your cares than anywhere else in the world, a stay in this neon-lit desert destination will certainly be memorable.
If you find yourself with a spare weekend in Vegas, what can you do?
Well, the hotels themselves offer more than enough to waste a few hours, with themes in each of them, and of course the obligatory casino. The Luxor Las Vegas is a fantastic choice of hotel to base yourself in for your Vegas break, and is one of the more affordable hotels, offering a high quality stay and an Egyptian pyramid theme.
Mandalay Bay, New York, New York, the MGM Grand, Circus Circus, Paris, Caesar’s Palace, Bellagio … the list is endless.
Helicopter over the Strip
A flight in a helicopter is an experience in itself, but a night flight over the Vegas Strip is something else. From the air you truly get a glimpse of the scale of this huge city, and the ridiculous amount of lights!
The view over the city and desert from the top of the Stratosphere Tower is amazing, and if you’re up for a bit of adrenaline, the rides at the top will certainly test your metal. Feeling adventurous? Why not bungee jump from the side of the tower?
Whether you’re looking at Gucci and needing a designer fix, or whether you’re on more of a budget and need to head to the outlets, shopping is not only easily done in Vegas, but extremely plentiful!
Hop on/hop off tourist bus
Probably the best way to see the most of Vegas in a short amount of time, the hop on/hop off tourist bus gets you from one end of the Strip to the other, telling you all the information you need as you go. You might think you can easily walk the Strip, but you would be quite wrong! Think of it as a mirage in the desert if you will, but what you can see and think you can easily walk, will probably take you a few hours and give you a few blisters. Cut out the stress, get the bus!
The Las Vegas sign
It has to be done! The hop on/hop off tourist bus will take you to the sign and stops for a short while, allowing you to get the all-important photograph. The only downside is that everyone else has the same idea, so bustling your way to the front is an art form indeed!
Whether you just bet a few dollars, lose it, and think ‘oh well’, or whether you choose to go a little further, you can’t go to Vegas and not at least have a walk around one of the huge air conditioned casinos that are in all large hotels.
As you can see, Vegas is entertainment central, and whether you stay for a few days or a few weeks, you will never be bored!
